The rear view mirror is small compared to the windshield because where your headed is more important than where you've been.

Darel had a good day yesterday. Both Raymonds came by. Nothing boring about the afternoon with the three of them telling stories!
I mostly made sure everything was staying warm as I rearranged the greenhouse for peppers. I got in lots of walking, making sure plants we had put in the outside greenhouses and cold frame stayed snug. Actually the snow helped insulate against the chilly east breeze. Schools were canceled. A good call, the roads were very slippery in the afternoon, lots of accidents. With no school Sally Jo was able to put more wood in the big greenhouse.
Time to start thinking about starting cabbage, broccoli and other cole crops. Lettuce too. With all the problems with unsafe lettuce people are going to be wanting to set out some lettuce plants in their flower garden. Heather is hoping to have lettuce in the vegetable stand with aspargus.
As I worked in the greenhouse yesterday wondering if the killdeer I had heard the night before would survive these chilly, snowy days I heard a male cardinal singing. Sitting in the birch tree, qetting snowed on he still sang his mating song because spring always comes. Sally
