7/20/17

Rosa parks refused to give up her seat on the bus, but she didn't trash the bus. Big difference!

55 degrees, sunny and calm.  A high of 80 today with a light NW wind and a low of 58 tonight.  Sunny tomorrow with a high of 88, a WSW breeze and a low of 64.  Afternoon thunderstorms Friday with a SW breeze, a high of 85 and a low of 64. Pleasant for the weekend with WNW breezes, highs about 87 and lows about 83.  Cloudy Monday with a SSW breeze, a high of 82 and a low of 63.  Pleasant the rest of the work week with highs in the low to mid eighties and lows about 60.  Scattered thunderstorms for weekend of the 30th and 31st with highs of 82 and lows of 60. August starts dry with possible morning showers Tuesday, the 2ed and scattered thundershowers Wednesday.  Highs will be in the low eighties with lows in the high fifties.
We enjoyed a pleasant day yesterday, sunny and cool for July.  The day started with harvesting as nearly every day will the rest of the summer.  We spent the rest of the day weeding.  We might even get caught up!  Gilbert spent his day in LaGrange repairing storm damage in their trailer park.
Doug mowed hay.  The hay crop is light in the centers of the fields where there was no snow cover.  I'm sure the record breaking cold the end of April after a warm March didn't help.
To discourage blackbirds I stopped putting out sunflower seeds and suet.  Hummingbirds never seem to come to the feeders late June and early July but they are back at the feeders now.  I see them in the flowers all the time but I think they like the liquid when it is hot.
I'm looking forward to another good day.  I hope yours is too.  Sally
