Leave your stress at the garden gate. But take some weeds with you when you leave!

Except for some herbs the garden is planted.  Now we will work on weeding and mulching.  Beet greens and lettuce are coming out of an section that we'll plant with the fall broccoli and cauliflower.  I got some flowers planted yesterday.  I have to replant part of a box in front of the garage.  We have a chipmunk that has not yet meant the cat.  It is stealing sunflower seeds from the barrel and burying them in the box.  The chickens see him and rush over to scratch and find the seeds.  For now I'll put a piece of fencing over the box to deter the hens.
All the hay mowed is in the barn.  It is not a very good hay forecast.  I hope we get some rain out of it. Thanks to the lack of snow last winter and below average rain fall the hay isn't very thick this year.   This morning the radar shows the rain breaking up and going northeast and southeast of us.  There is enough fog so I can wait and see if we get a thundershower this afternoon before I water.
      Have a good day, Sally
