5/13/16

A good life is when you realize how blessed you are.

42 degrees, on its way to seventy.  Sun and high clouds which may thicken this afternoon.  A light SSE breeze that will become stiff enough to blow away the black flies.  51 for tonight's low.  Scattered AM showers tomorrow with a west breeze, a high of 77 and a low of 49.  Showers Sunday with a stiff SW breeze, a high of 56 and a low of 37.  Cloudy Monday with a west wind, a high of 49 and a low of 39.  Partly cloudy Tuesday but still  a west wind, a high of 61 and a low of 41.  PM showers Wednesday lasting into Thursday with a SSW breeze, a high of 64 and a low of 43.  A north breeze Thursday with a high of 64 and a low of 44.  Mostly cloudy next Friday with a NW breeze, a high of 67 and a low of 46.  Partly cloudy next weekend with highs of 71, west breezes, and lows of 47.  Sunny Monday, the 23rd,. with a WNW breeze, a high of 70 and a low of 47. Sunny Tuesday, the 24th and a little warmer.  Partly cloudy Wednesday, warmer with a high of 74, s low of 51.  Warm with showers to end the week.
Another busy day.  three waves left, two purple and pink, one pink and purple plus some ivy geraniums.  Tiffany got most of the petunias out on the benches.  Today she will start working on the perennial displays.  I got everything watered.  I'm hoping tomorrow morning's showers are enough so I don't have to water outside tomorrow.
Several tree swallows showed up yesterday, I'm hoping they stay.  We have about the usual number of barn swallows nesting in the barns. We try not to have anything under their nests.  They make a mess but we put up with it because they eat all the flies.
A friend has been helping Friday and Saturday in exchange for plants.  Now I've hired her to work through the busy season.  Today that means catchup for me but maybe planting some of my flowers.
Andrew installed my new dishwasher last night.  All the dishes were clean this morning!  It takes a long time to run the cycle but it is very quiet. I still have some leaning to do on using it.
There was no softball practice yesterday, the coach felt everyone was too sad.  There is a game Monday at the same time as the funeral.  I can't believe it won't be changed.  The little girl wasn't just Sally Jo's classmate, she was on the cheerleading squad with her and her math partner.  Katie and her sister lost their mother to cancer two years ago.  They had spent part of Sunday with one of the coaches.  His wife had helped them get flowers and took them to the cemetery.
I'm expecting a good day, enjoy yours, Sally
