The last cold night. The hose goes back out today to stay according to the forecasts. No more tucking the pansies in and lots of other flowers will start moving out of the main greenhouse. More flowers and peppers will take their place. Herbs will be bumped up into larger pots and many of they will go outside. When it is time to transplant the tomatoes more flowers that do well in the cool temperatures will go outside making room for them. Putting flowers in the cool , small greenhouses and cold frames hardens them off nicely. One coldframe and the hoop house have an electric heater in case the temperature drops.
One cardinal is still looking for a mate. they are very shy now, only coming to the feeders very early or very late. And not very often. The pine siskins haven't left yet, nor have the summer sparrows come. I haven't seen any killdeer. It will be interesting to see what today's SSE winds bring us.
Why it was dry Darel took more wood around to the greenhouse back room and Gilbert stacked it. Even with the warmer weather I'll be needing night time fires. Tomatoes and peppers want the greenhouse at summer temperatures!
Enjoy your day, Sally
