 23 degrees, overcast with a NNE breeze that will increase as the sun rises.  A high of of 46 today with a low of 26 tonight.  Partly cloudy tomorrow with a SSE breeze, a high of 49 and a low of 31.  Rain Monday with a SE breeze, a high of 44 and a low of 35. Partly cloudy with a strong NW wind Tuesday, a high of 42 and a low of 26.  Partly cloudy Wednesday with a west breeze, a high of 51 and a low of 34.  Showers Thursday PM with a SW wind, a high of 62 and a low of 48.  Showers Friday with a SW breeze, a high of 56 and a low of 38. Partly cloudy Sunday with a west wind, a high of 44 and a low of 23.  Partly cloudy next Monday with a stiff WNW breeze, a high of 37 and a low of 24.  Mostly sunny next Tuesday with a west breeze, a high of 39 and a low of 26.  Partly cloudy  Wednesday with a high of 40 and a low of 28.  Snow to rain Thursday, the 7th, with a WSW breeze, a high of 45 and a low of 31.  Mostly cloudy Friday, the 8th, with a SW breeze, a high of 46 and a low of 33.  Showers Saturday, the 9th, with a high of 49 and a low of 34.

     Where is that promised sun?  I need to go put wood on the fires.

     Most of the ice is off the trees but there is still a layer of crunchy ice pellets on the ground.  The warm air never got to us yesterday, our high was 34.  I didn't do anything in the greenhouse yesterday but  to keep raking the coals.  I needed to burn them down so there was room in the stove.  At 31 and 32 degrees burning them was enough to keep the temperature up.

      The blackbirds didn't get here until late morning so all our birds had chance to eat.  The gray squirrel came by for a drink and some seeds.  It may be a bit bigger than the blackbirds but it leaves when they come.

      We are planning on getting everything ready for moving plants.  Including having blankets ready for some of the chilly nights in the forecast.  I have an electric heater in the cold frame and the hoop house.  And we can open the door to the back room.  Chilly nights in April are not uncommon.  The fabric used to cover garden seedlings to bring the temperature up a few degrees is on sale.  Yesterday I ordered some to sell and some for us.  Chilly nights in late May and early June aren't uncommon either and cucumbers like to be tucked in.
