A big day at the nursery yesterday. Prides Corner Farm truck arrived mid day with a large order of shrubs and perennials, all potted up, ready to take home and plant. The just barely got all those plants where they belonged when the barefoot order from Bailey's in Minnesota came. It wasn't scheduled to arrive until today. By nightfall the fruit trees all had their roots in tubs of water. Some of the shrubs' roots are wrapped and the shrubs are boxed. Shrubs with unprotected roots also had their roots set in water. It didn't take them very long to unload the truck even though the were doing it by hand. When they finished unloading they gave the driver a tour. He has been delivering too greenhouses for some time but had never been inside one. He was impressed, so many plants, so much green, so many beautiful flowers. He said that even though no one had offered to give him a tour before he liked delivering to Maine because Maine people were so nice.
I uncovered my Mischief rose and tied it up to the trellis yesterday. It looks good, So does my pink bush rose. I think I'l move it, the purple cone flower are crowding it.. My climbing rose has gotten so large I didn't try to lay it down and cover it last fall. It looks like it is leafing out. The Wm Buffin rose in the kitchen garden never has a problem with winter. I just have to keep cutting it back.
A busy day ahead, Potting up the barefoot fruit trees and shrubs. Lots of rose bushes are in that load. May your day be blessed, Sally
