A high of 62 yesterday.  Clouds, calm, 41 degrees.  Showers later this morning, a steady rain this afternoon ending early evening.  A brisk SE breeze with a high of 55.  Partly cloudy tonight with a low of 38.  Mostly cloudy tomorrow with a light west wind , a high of 47, a low of 35.  Sunshine Thursday with a WNW wind, a high of 50, a low of 43.  Sunshine Friday with a WSW breeze, a high of 59, a low of 43.  Rain  Saturday with a stiff SW breeze, a high of 62, a low of 38.  Sunshine Easter Sunday with a NW wind, a high of 49, a low of 33.  Sunshine Monday with a stiff NW breeze, a high of 58, a low of 38.  Partly cloudy next Tuesday with a SSE breeze, a high of 57, a low of 42.  Mostly cloudy next Wednesday and Thursday with NW breezes, highs about 57, lows about 42.  Mostly cloudy Friday the 25th with a NNE breeze, a high of 56, a low of 39.  Partly cloudy the weekend of the 26th and 27th , and the next two days.  Brisk NW breezes with highs in the upper fifties, low around 40.

    Sunshine yesterday afternoon lifted our spirits.  The rain took out the rest of the frost.  The driveway is hard enough for me to use my walker.  Mostly as a "truck", I can't walk and carry much.  The sledding snow pile is nearly gone, exposing more of the branches the pine tree lost.  When I went to Corinth yesterday it seemed as if every home had a brush pile in their yard.

    Today is the day the cole crops are planted.  Broccoli and cauliflower plants can usually be planted in the garden by the middle of May givins tender heads before the heat of summer .The seedlings can be covered with ag fabric  if flea beetles are a problem.  We also plant a variety of cabbage that makes a small head, just right for a bowl of coleslaw.

We plant a second planting of broccoli and cauliflower in  July for our fall crop.  We plant fall cabbage and brussel sprouts in May, they both need a long growing season.  They will plant lettuce this week too.  Lettuce seeds can be planted in the garden early and grow fast.  Some of us are in a hurry for fresh lettuce and set out lettuce plants.  So the nursery offers lettuce plants too.

    Longer days mean the hens get up earlier.  It is already time to collect the first round of eggs.  The hens all want to use the same nest so we collect eggs a couple times in the morning so none get broken.  May your day be blessed, Sally
