Darel had a quiet day yesterday thankful for the air conditioner. In the evening we meant Heather and Mike at the Creamery for vegetables to restock the stand. And of course ice cream.
I spent most of the day in the rose garden. Our clematis are in the rose garden. They are strong, thriving vies. And because they are vines they want to vine all over each other and the fence. We want them to vine on the bamboo sticks we've given them so it will be easy for them to move to their new homes. Weeds like the rose garden too. especially dandelions. iIhad to reach in among the rose thorns and pull out all the little seedlings.
When i got done i picked cucumbers, summer squash and zucchini. There was still summer squash from the other day so heather's pigs are having squash for breakfast. MY hens get all the squash they will heat with the ones that aren't quite good enough for customers.
I finally filled the bird feeders. There are still a few blackbirds around, I'm hoping they stay away. I have some lovely clumps of sunflowers by the feeders where they knocked seed on the ground. This morning a lone purple finch fledgling is at a feeder.
Berry picking and maybe some work in my flowers gardens is on today's to do list. Have a good day, Sally
