Darel had a pleasant day yesterday. He spent quite a bit of time at the greenhouse, walking back and forth on his own. A ride to the Creamery ended the day. After we went to the store for a pizza. We had to let the cook range go out because there is another leak in the copper pipe. This morning they are replacing the entire pipe.
Sally Jo weeded the big greenhouse yesterday. Yes, we even grow weeds in there. We are about to totally empty it and let the summer heat have it. Then she weeded a perennial table. I planted gourds and a few other things. We both waited on customers. Someone had dropped off an old beat up garden tower like decoration. I set it up by the horse barn and planted the leftover pots of cardinal climber around it . The hummingbirds will love it and it can go to the dump this fall.
I'll pick strawberries today and do some weeding. Now that everything is planted I need to start weeding what was planted early, like the onions. I still have lots of flowers I want to plant. I have too many flowers left on the benches. Kirby Ellis , a local greenhouse owner who all wholesales stopped by for some basil for himself. He said all the greenhouses are dumping plants. He said I've done well compared to some.
Farmers and greenhouse owners don't need to buy megabuck tickets, everyday is a gamble!
Gamble or not I expect today to be a good day. Hope yours is too, Sally
