8/23/18
May we see Freedom, not as an opportunity to do as we please but as an opportunity to do what is right.

Clear with a west breeze and 57 degrees.  .55 inches of rain yesterday.  Sunny today, a brisk WNW breeze with a high of 77 and a low of 53 tonight.  Sunny tomorrow with a SW breeze, a high of 85 and a low of 57.  Pleasant this weekend and Monday with SWS breezes, highs in the eighties and lows around 60.  Mostly cloudy Tuesday with a NW breeze, a high of 79 and a low of 64.  Partly cloudy Thursday with a WSW breeze, a high of 83 and a low of 63. Mostly cloudy next Thursday with a west breeze, a high of 81 and a low of 63.  Pleasant Labor Day weekend with an isolated chance of a thunderstorm Monday.  Highs will be in the upper seventies, lows in the upper fifties.
Darel had a good day yesterday with numbers where they should be and a lot less swelling.  He even got to go to the Creamery again last night because Heather met us there with vegetables and melons for the stand.
Yesterday morning I cut down a patch of bull thistles in the pasture and dumped ashes from the cook stove on them so they wouldn't ripen. We try to make sure our own don't get to go to seed but seeds blow in on the wind!  I also picked vegetables.  Even though I got everything done before it started raining i was cold and wet from the fog.
for a change the warmth from the cook range felt good.
In the afternoon i placed a seed order so i could get the early order discount.  The rep wasn't busy so we spent some time visiting.  I got lots of tips from her and she put me though to a specialist who  gave me suggestions for successful germinating seeds that i haven't been able to germinate.  Some seeds are on their way.  Even if i succeed they won't bloom until the second year.  A long term project!
Planning to work in my gardens and go get feed today why Tamarra is here to wait on nursery customers.  Expecting a good day, hoping yours is good too.  Sally
