8/24/18
Be grateful for every second you get to spend with people you love.

Clear with a light west breeze and 53 degrees.  Sunny today with a SW breeze, a high of 85 and a low of 87.  Partly cloudy today through Wednesday with highs in the eighties, high eighties next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday,  SSW breezes and lows in the sixties.  Partly cloudy Thursday through next weekend with highs in the upper seventies.  Morning showers Labor day.  Than another stretch of pleasant weather with highs in the seventies.  lows will be in the fifties.
Darel had a good day yesterday.  He got out for awhile when we went after feed
The blue hubbard that was tagged yellow squash is devouring that end of the garden.  I had saved the sweet potatoes but forgot the hot peppers were planted next to it.  There is no saving them.  Fortunately Heather's are doing well.  I've cut those vines back over and over.
I spent quite a bit of time cutting down sweet annie that springs up everywhere.  Sweet Annie smells so nice but when it gets ripe it throws its seed everywhere.  I didn't do a good job of cutting it down last fall so there is lots tis fall.  Doug cut second cutting today.  That means I'll be able to drive to the plant dump in the woods without knocking down grass.  I've lots of Burdock to cut down and put down on that dump.  Too much to try to compost in my garden compost piles.  It only takes one year of neglect for these invasive weeds to get out of control.
I'll pick cucumbers today.  They are three for a dollar now as they are slowing down.  Potato farmers are digging potatoes.  This weekend is Dover fair.  Summer is ending!  But the weather is beautiful and I'm getting lots done.  Enjoy your day, Sally
