8/2/18
Family are those willing to hold your hand when you need it most.

Clouds, 66 degrees with a light SW breeze.  A stiff SW breeze today with a high of 90 and a low of 68 tonight.  Cloudy tomorrow with a light south breeze, a high of 89 and a low of 66.  Scattered thunderstorms Saturday with a light SW breeze, a high of 81 and a low of 63.  Sunny Sunday with a light west breeze, a high of 88 and a low of 65.  Partly cloudy Monday with a SW breeze, a high of 90 and a low of 66.  Scattered thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday with SW breezes, highs in the mid eighties and lows in the mid sixties.  Pleasant the rest of the week, through the weekend and into the next week with highs in the low eighties.
Darel had a good day yesterday.  Last night we took a ride to the store and bought lettuce.  Yes, lettuce.  The woodchucks (and yes that is an s)  have left our third planting nothing but stubs.  Apparently the one that went to the compost pile wasn't the lettuce eater.  If you come to look at our wide selection of perennials, yes that is pots of lettuce among them.  I've decided the only way we are going to have lettuce is to grow it in pots up on the benches with the perennials!
It doesn't seem like I accomplished too much yesterday.  Rachael pulled the garlic, moved some mums and perennials out front, and of course did some watering.  i did some watering too and fixed the leaking hose.  For the third time but at least I succeeded this time.  The Griffin salesman came by.  Even though I won't be going to the Expo he will give me expo pricing.  I have to have my order in by the 20th.  Griffin pays all our expenses to go to the Expo because everyone always turns in a larger order, including me.
i picked the green beans yesterday and some blueberries.  As always happens the blueberries are getting smaller.  Because it was so dry they didn't start out as large this year.  I'll pick the rest of the ripe ones today and dig potatoes.
Enjoy your day, i expect too, Sally
