Darel enjoyed the visiting and food at the church bean dinner last night. We are blessed with a supportive church family that makes it possible for him to get out. After a spoonful of honey followed by a drink of pineapple juice he was able to get good night's sleep. Sitting in the recliner, if he laid down he'd start coughing. Just talked to him, says he feel fine so we will be going to church and SS.
With the wind and the back room to heat I put wood on the fires every two and a half hours, the greenhouse stayed toasty. Even though an electric heater is going in the little greenhouse with the million bells they are covered with quilts and blankets. The bulb from an indoor/outdoor thermometer was with them under the blankets. it showered that they were ten degrees warmer under the blankets. I won't tough them today.
Gilbert cleaned the chicken house yesterday. Today we will move the brooder in and get everything set up for chicks. The soil around the blueberries was thawed so he put some organic soil acidifier around each plant.
It is time to put wood on the fires again. I have a lot to do between now and 8:30. Warm up will be so slow i will take some hot water out to the hens. Have a good day, Sally
