Darel rested yesterday from an early morning "event". His words were slurred when he first woke up but totally clear by nine. His pulse remained very low. He kept us posted on what the storm was doing as it came up the coast to us.
Andrew and Gayle got to where they were going on the outer banks. There was lots of snow, it took some shoveling. Monday's high is forecast to be 56.
Morning care of the hens was no problem. Gilbert helped me get out to take care of the hens mid afternoon. I gave them their evening scratch then, I knew I wouldn't be able to get back back out at six. The temperature was high enough so their water wouldn't freeze. If I find a few frozen eggs this morning I'll cook them and mix them in their warm mash tomorrow morning. There were lots of birds at the feeders until the storm started.
Our lights never even blinked. Now there is the work of getting the cords picked back up. We had over a foot before we got that last round of snow last night. The drifts are up on the windows, so much wind i have no idea how much we got.
Have a good day, Sally
