Then four days of snow showers.
We had a pleasant quiet day yesterday.  Doug and Nicole had a New Year's Day family dinner.  Little Darel bought us over dinner and stayed to visit awhile.
The Village and front room Nativity are put away.  We have a couple of suitcases I got from my parents garage years ago.  Why the table the village was on is empty we are going to go through the suitcases.  there are many slides and many old pictures.I'll keep ones of our family, give Lynne the ones of her family and send the rest to my sister in New York.  She has done a lot of work maintaining family records from way back and will know what is worth saving. I will be forced to get the suitcases gone through because I'm going to set grow lights over that table.  Seeds should germinate well with the warmth of the pellet stove.  Seeds that like cooler temperatures can start in the laundry.  Forecasters are forecasting below average temperatures for all of January.
Despite warm mash and warm water the hens' eggs are getting smaller.  Not much else I can do for them.  Even though no wind reaches them they never do as well when it is windy.  Neither do I!
Today I will go out and make sure nothing is around the stoves so at 4:30 tomorrow morning I can just go out and strike a match to get the fires going.  Maybe it would be good to have the kindling wood and newspaper here in the house so it is warm and dry.  There is lots of dry wood in the greenhouse, ready for spring.  I don't like using any of it now but that ice buildup needs gone.
       Have a good day, Sally
