Darel had a quiet day yesterday. We took a ride, going to Airport Hannaford for some fried chicken. That lifted his spirits.
Lexi hit a deer on her way home from work Friday night. Justin went to where she hit it, the game warden gave them the deer. They bough it home, skinned and gutted it. At 2;30 AM they put it in our big cooler. We never heard a thing. They are both in collage, they both have jobs, but they really didn't need to paying to fix her car or be making car payments. The house they are buying is very much a fix upper. It needs a lot of winterizing. And they were hoping to buy a new airtight wood stove. The stove they have burns a lot of wood fast. That doesn't work well with both of them gone a lot. They have an oil furnace too.
I'm emptying the stand today. I dropped the squash price to fifty cents a pound. Squash and pumpkins will be self service. Darel really likes to go for rides. Any day an "event" may take his ability to get in the truck. Even now he needs more help than he did a week ago. My garden goal today will be to pull the rest of the onions and put them in the greenhouse to cure for us.
Have a good day, Sally
