Darel was restless but had no pain due to an early morning "event" yesterday.    His speech wasn't slurred but his voice sounded like he was irked.  He decided he couldn't talk on the phone and wouldn't be able to watch the Patriots game on TV last night.  By afternoon his pulse were normal (Plural because we take it on both sides, there is often a twenty pint difference.)  He wanted to get out of the house so we went to the feed store.  By evening he felt well enough to watch the game.  And the Pats managed to win.
Getting feed yesterday worked out well.  Little Andrew was here unloading the load of wood he'd split up and he unloaded the feed too.  I get enough feed so I shouldn't have to think about getting feed until December.  I've sold a lot more pumpkins than I though I would but I still have lots left. There are pumpkins for sale road side in many places.  I think i'll start putting a couple in the woodstove oven each day for the hens.  Some time in the next few days I need to harvest ours.  And put them in the greenhouse for a week to cure.  The sweet potatoes are dug and in the greenhouse curing.
We use a lot of black plastic in the garden.  Many people have a later spring frost than we do but we have so much wind our soil is very slow to warm up.  The plastic gives us a big jump on the season.  But now comes the job of pulling it up.  We got a good start on it .  I try to pull some every day.
We have very few birds.  The summer birds have gone and the winter ones haven't come yet.  The finches are feeding on natural food, there are so many ripe seeds this time of the year.
       Have a good day, Sally
