8/7/17
The greatest wealth is contentment with little.

Mostly sunny, a gentle SW breeze and 52 degrees.  Clouding up this afternoon, showers this evening, perhaps a thunderstorm, with the showers becoming rain toward morning. a high of 71 today with a brisk WSW breeze and a low of 59 tonight.  Wednesday starts three pleasant days with highs in the low eighties and lows of 59.  SW breezes Wednesday and Thursday will give way to a SSE breeze Friday that will bring in morning showers for the weekend and most of the day Monday.  Weekend and Monday highs will be about 79 with lows of 59 and SW breezes.  Sunny next Tuesday and Wednesday followed by 5 days of unsettled weather.  Highs will be about 80.

We went to church with Doug and Nicole yesterday.  The pastor preached a very meaningful sermon and the entire service was great.  Early in the afternoon our pastor came out and all of our family that was here joined us in celebrating Communion.  We spent most of the rest of the day visiting and looking at picture albums.  There were some tears come evening prayer time for it was the last time Keith would be joining all of us.  Good byes are always hard but this morning will be tough when he leaves to head back to Alaska.
Goodbyes are said.  Keith is on his way home.  I only had one quart of honey jugged up so I've jugged a bucket of honey.  Most of it went in quarts, a few pints.  A lady is coming by this morning for 3 or 4 quarts.  Some day soon Tim will be taking honey off our hives.  he had planned to yesterday but it was so windy the bees would have been cranky.
Jordn is coming up today to help me.  I haven't kept up with the corner behind the house that Gilbert cleared out and mulch.  With lots of mulch hay available this is a good time to pull any bamboo and weeds sneaking back in and put down more mulch.    Whey we are at it i'm going to plant more ground cover and trim back the forsythia back there.  It isn't meant for this zone, it seldom blooms.  I've had no luck trying to tear it out.  The birds like it so i just keep it trimmed.
Did I say we didn't have many birds?  Purple and gold finch babies are flocking to the feeders now.  The two evening grosbeaks still come now and then.  One is a male, he seems to have a "bad hair" day every day as he grows in his bright yellow plumage.
       Have a good day, Sally
