A quiet day yesterday. The cookout tired Darel out. Today we are planning to go to church with Doug and Nicole. Keith will be with us to help get Darel in and out of the truck. Today is Communion Sunday at our church. Our pastor is coming out this afternoon to celebrate Communion with Darel and I.
I picked 6 quarts of blueberries yesterday. i would have liked to pick raspberries before the storm but didn't get to it. I pulled several onions, I think there are only a few left on the stand.
Last night when nicole came home from work a skunk was sitting on the front step. She used the button in the truck to open the garage door and came in that way. I was glad I'd shut the garage door. Doug went out through the garage, got his 12 gauge out of his truck and dispatched the skunk with Justin holding a flashlight. Is jacking skunks legal? There seems to be no end to skunks this summer. One has dug a hole under the garage by the lilac display. It has made such a mess it doesn't seem possible a skunk could move so many rocks to dig that hole. It looks like too much for a woodchuck to do too. We haven't figured out yet how we are going to eliminate whatever it is.
Andrew and Gayle are getting Darel ready for church. I'm going to feed the birds and maybe harvest some vegetables for the stand. It was full yesterday afternoon but lots of customers came by later in the day.
Have a good day, Sally
