After church I took a pumpkin pie up to Gilbert and Barbie. The pie was made from his pumpkins. Gilbert is finding lots to do with one hand. He's still not feeling very good but his outlook is positive.
Bekah and I watered houseplants yesterday, deciding what we will keep and where we will put them.. All but two of the fuchsias will go down cellar. So will some geraniums. Some will be cut back with the goal of a window full of red geraniums to brighten up February.
I cut the blooms off the roses to make potpourri. The rain would have knocked the petals off. There are still some on the red climber that I couldn't reach and there are buds on the white roses. The bag full of blossoms will shrink as they dry but there will be enough rose potpourri to scent the house for Valentine Day. Now that the wood cook range is going we can have a pan of fall scented potpourri simmering on a back corner. The girls have simmering potpourri for sale in the stand. Many people have a small crock pot for potpourri. People prefer the natural scents to the store bought chemicals.
Lots to do before the rain, we aren't used to being ready for a rainy day! May your day be blessed, Sally
