Gilbert was on an eight foot ladder pruning with his pole saw.  He fell breaking both bones in his wrist.  When some other bruises were being x-rayed they found out he had walking pneumonia.  A tough way to find out why his allergies were so bad this fall!  The wrist is bad but we are thankful nothing else is broken!
The black Austropes left yesterday.  With all the eggs we are getting from the pullets we didn't need their eggs.  They weren't laying enough eggs to make much profit on their eggs.  They went to a friend who lost her flock to a wolverine.  For her the number of eggs they are laying are better than none.  We will only have one flock to care for this winter.
Lots of things I want to do this last day of summer.  May your day be blessed, Sally
