It is the end of the season. Everyone is pulling out of the yard for a three day vacation. Jay is happy that it is raining just in time to ensure a good germination of the rye cover crop. Thursdaywillbe spent putting away the fall order of greenhouse supplies. It was supposed to come last Wednesday but postponed to this Wednesday. Friday they will start putting up the new greenhouse. Jay says it is the biggest puzzle he's ever worked on!
Yesterday Jay pulled the pump from the pond. No more waterfall. No frogs in sight. They've all gone into the bottom for the winter.
Last night Bekah, Heather and I culled the old hens. They caught the ones I said went. They were put in crates for me to deliver to our Amish friends this morning. They are going to do what I've done in the past, butcher and pressure can them.
God answers prayers in unexpected ways. My physical therapist believed the spasms I had had dislocated a rib. I was planning to get it looked at this morning. The last hen didn't want to be caught, she flew into the rafters right over my head. Without thinking about my sore ribs I reached up and grabbed her feet. My whole rib cage hurt! But when the pain subsided there was no more pain. The rib had gone back in place! I am very grateful.
May your day be blessed, Sally
