A tree trimming crew from the electric company was here yesterday.  Part of the crew were two Mexicans.  They loved walking through the gardens and were so excited that we had green chilli peppers growing.  Jay let them pick them, buying them as fresh as possible.
It is good that Jay was here yesterday.  The nursery is closed Mondays but there was a steady stream of customers!  Lots of mums left.  So did the rest of the potatoes.  When he wasn't helping customers Jay was pulling the plastic the cucumbers were planted in and putting away the soaker hoses.  Soon it will be time to plant rye seed for the winter cover crop.
In the afternoon when the sun was shining on the back of the house Jay west down cellars with cans of spray foam looking for sunbeams shining through the stone foundation.  Anywhere there was a sunbeam it got filled with foam.  I went along the outside sprinkling the ground with cayenne pepper so skunks wouldn't think under my kitchen would be a nice winter home.
Last year they dug a trench and put concrete in it along the rest of the back wall.
The medical center called.  They had my lab report.  They apologized, saying it came in a week ago.  The machine must have dropped it.  They thanked me for calling and asking them to see why it wasn't back yet.  The hematologist said that she didn't think I needed an iron transfusion.  She feels if I continue taking the oral iron my iron levels will be normal in three months.
Enjoy today's cool temperatures and abundant sunshine.  Warm temperatures and lots of sun are forecast for the next two weeks.  May your day be blessed, Sally
