Yesterday would have been Violet's 5th birthday. Several of the family had supper here at the farm. Margin made spaghetti and a cake. After cake and icecream everyone went to the cemetery and planted wave petunias Bekah had saved on Violet's grave. The sweet perennial violas that looked so pretty in the spring weren't doing well in the heat. Bekah saved me a pink wave to plant by the butterfly gazing ball in the garden off the back deck . The beauty of the butterfly reminds us that in heaven Mitch and Violet no longer suffer with cancer ridden bodies.
Jay waters the cucumbers whenever there isn't plenty of rain. Last week he added Nature's source liquid fertilizer to the water. The plants have responded to his TLC by continuing to crank out four or five cucumbers a day. People continue to come from all over for them. Customers say they can taste the TLC the plants get! We have lots of green beans. The Millers, an Amish family, have lots of delicious sweetcorn. Jay picked sweet corn for our stand, they got green beans for their stand.
My doctor's office called yesterday about the lab's report of my bloodwork. Even though the report showed improvement and I'm feeling better they want me to continue with the high dose of oral iron. In addition they want me to have an iron infusion. Now the doctor and the specialist agree on an infusion. I was glad to learn that the report showed I was still quite anemic. I have been trying to concentrate on how much better I feel and not think about how frail I seem to be. I have other things I want to do besides rest. And I would like to go to Tiffany's wedding in Rhode Island in October.
May your day be blessed, Sally
