Over the past couple of years the path to the kitchen garden from the road has grown in.  I've been concerned about it because should our septic tank need pumped that is the path for the hose.  I have always kept it open in the past.  I pruned the rose bush back heavily last year so it wouldn't encroach the path or top of the tank but never got to the path. Yesterday we realized it needed to be pumped.  In an hour Jay and Bekah had the path all cleaned out and the brush gone.  The man is coming to pump it this morning.  One more thing checked off the to do list.
I defrosted the smaller chest freezer yesterday.  Another job off the to do list.  Now Jay has plenty of freezer room to freeze the jugs of ice he uses in the vegetable stand coolers. Now the big freezer needs to be defrosted so it is ready for vegetables.
They are picking lots of green beans, they are selling fast.  Bekah is making dilly beans.  The garlic is big and beautiful, just in time for dilly beans and pickles.  We like to put sweet onions in our pickles, they are bulking up right on time.  There are a few ripe tomatoes.  Customers are asking for them before they even get to the stand.  We haven't had any yet!
Bradford day is Saturday.  Friday night will be a pizza party and making the Country Junction and Little League floats.  Back to haying tomorrow.  May God bless your day, Sally
