Besides filling the stand with vegetables and helping customers, Bekah, Jay and Heather took the hoop house down.  It was in the way of the new greenhouse.  We have used it for many years, it needed to be rebuilt.  They aren't sure where they are going to put it back up.  The pansy/vegetable greenhouse needs to be moved also.  They are going to try to move it without taking it down.
All the rain germinated some thistle seeds that had blown into the kitchen garden.  They were easy for me to pull.  The chickens enjoyed them along with some dandelion greens.  We have three batches of chickens, the old hens, the pullets and the chicks.  The chicks will be laying next month.  Then they will be the pullets, the pullets will be the old hens and the old hens will be no more, except for the few that are still laying well.  This coming week I will start culling the old hens.  Any left will go in with the ones we are calling pullets now.  Then Bekah will clean and disinfect where the old hens have been and the chicks will move in.  If we've time it right the move will be just before they start to lay.  We put some fake eggs in the nest boxes to give them the iday where they should lay their eggs.
Another nice day.  Jay and Bekah will harvest every vegetable they can and put them in coolers.  They are going to Storyland tomorrow.  They want to make sure there are plenty of vegetables so I can keep the coolers in the stand full.  They picked sixty pounds of green beans yesterday so they are going to put them on sale.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
