7/16/23  When the world wearies there is always prayer in the garden.

1.28 inch of rain.  1.12 of that fell in the 55 minutes it took the Bradford Days parade to run its route.  Dense fog this morning.  Thunderstorms today and tonight, rain may be heavy at times.  A flood watch from two this afternoon until six tomorrow morning.  A strong  SSE breeze today with a high of 74.   Tonight's low 69.  Thunderstorms tomorrow morning with a SSW breeze, a high of 86. a low of 67.  Cloudy Tuesday with a stiff SSE breeze, a high of 85. a low of 66.  Scattered thunderstorms Wednesday, 50% chance.  A SW breeze, a high of 81, a low of 62. Partly cloudy Thursday with an east breeze, a high of 84, a low of 62.  Scattered thunderstorms Friday and Saturday with SE breezes, highs of 81 Friday, 77 Saturday.  Lows of 64.  Showers next Sunday with a SSE breeze, a high of 81, a  low of 64.   Partly cloudy the 24th and 25th with scattered thunderstorms the rest of the week.  SW breezes with highs in the mid eighties, lows about 65.

I helped customers yesterday morning uneil a soaked family returned from the  parade.  They were in good spirits even though it had rained so hard it rained into Bekah's boots why they were on her.  Azalea's sneakers sat by the stove all night and were still so wet I put them on the boot dryer this morning.  They were amazed at how many people stood in the rain to watch the parade and cheer them on.  Jay didn't even put dry clothes on, he went right to picking vegetables.  It was a rainy day but a lot of people came by to buy perennials.  And lots of vegetables left.  No one is having to water.  The concern is too much water for the plants.  They never get to dry out.
A pair of rose breasted grosbeaks brought their hatchlings to the feeders. A noisy bunch!  The purple finch hatchlings come once in a while.  After the first day or so the babies know how to find wild seeds.
Gilbert's trailer is still hooked up to my truck from the parade.  But it doesn't matter, Andrew is coming this morning to fix my shower.  I'll watch a taped version of church on line later on.  My youngest great granddaughter is having her first birthday party this afternoon.  May God bless you on this day.  Sally
