Darel had a pleasant day yesterday, the Raymonds were here visiting.  Last night we meant Lil Andrew and family at church with pansies so the kids could plant them in the church box.  All two year old Ayden did was keep his parents busy keeping an eye on him but Annabelle and her cousin were right in the box digging out old mum roots and planting pansies.  They were very pleased with their work.  Darel had me park so he was right beside them.    We headed home after a stop at the Creamery.
No ice in the fire pond this morning.  i kept watch yesterday but the ice hung in there on one side.  But last night's rain was too much for it.  Now to listen for peepers.  They have never been this late.
A busy day yesterday.  Debbie found some aphids so some plants went outside to get hosed off and rained on.  I order two vials of lace wings, flies who love to eat aphids at all stages,  They will be shipped overnight Monday.  The plants will go back inside and the greenhouses closed up so the lacewings can climate the aphids.  We didn't find many but want to make sure there are none.  Last night when I checked my e-mails there was one from a greenhouse publication warning New Englands growerss that aphids seemed to be a problem this season.
I found out that my bees were coming this weekend so I had to open the hive and clean it.  I'm pleased with the timing.  They will be all settled in and ready to work when the fruit trees blossom.
The clematis came yesterday.  Some are potted up already.  My clematis here by the house is showing some green shoots but I'll still put some relay over the plants when i put them out in the rose garden.
Greenhouse  work will be maintenance for a few days as we celebrate Easter.  Always have to water!  Have a good day, Sally
