3/29/19
Don't think about what might happen.   Just focus on now, on what you are thankful for and what you can do to get where you want to be.

Light west breeze, rain, .15 inch so far, and 36 degrees.  Rain ending this morning, occasional showers until mid afternoon with a high of 46 and light SW breeze.  Patly cloudy to cloudy tonight with a light breeze and a low of 29.  Cloudy tomorrow with showers starting about noon, an east breeze, a high of 45, dropping to 41 tomorrow night.  Rain on Sunday, perhaps a half inch, with a stiff SSW breeze, a high of 55 and a low of 28.  Sunny Monday with a WNW wind, a high of 36 and a low of 22.  Partly cloudy Tuesday with a SW breeze, a high of 48 and a low of 41.  Rain Wednesday, snow flakes may mix in,  47 degrees with a brisk south breeze, a high of 47 and a low of 33.  Partly cloudy Thursday with a strong NW breeze, a high of 51 and a low of 24.  Cloudy next Friday with a stiff SW breeze, a high of 53 and a low of 38.  Partly cloudy next weekend with stiff NW breezes, highs in the mid forties, lows of 28.  Partly cloudy Monday, the 9th, with a brisk west breeze, a high of 46 and a low of 30.  Showers the rest of the week with highs in the fifties and lows in the thirties.
Darel had a pleasant comfortable day yesterday.  In the evening I commented that I couldn't just sit there with it daylight outside,  he said, " I'm very content to just sit here."
I've given the rain chance to stop before i go put wood on the fires but it is time to stoke the stoves rain or not.  Rain has stopped.  Lots of snow has melted.  There are bare spots in Gilbert's fields, I can see the chains at the top of the swing set and the snow is gone in front of the house.  Now the crocuses can come up.  The greenhouse is toasty.  The tarp is still on the petunia cold frame so they are toasty too.  We filled it up with pruned  waves yesterday.  Waves for our second round of hanging petunias.  i put a large tarp over the plastic nights to hold the heat in.
Moving into the back room and moving the waves to the cold frame was our main accomplishment yesterday.  And that was plenty.  Though Tamarra did get some petunia seedlings we grow to brighten up flower gardens transplanted.  She also put the container tomato plants we give away on Open Green House Day in individual pots.
The Andrews got the new plastic over the hoop house before the wind came up.  The ends still need repaired.  That was a strong, raw wind yesterday even if it was from the SW.  If today goes as planned Conner Will put a tier of wood in the back room from the outside pile.  We still have a month of fires.  After school Sally Jo and I will move the calibrachoa to the calibrachoa greenhouse.  It has an electric heater for cold nights.  Even though they are almost as cold hardy as pansies I will put relay over them on chilly nights.
     Have a good day, Sally
