Darel had a comfortable day yesterday.  Doug was here for awhile as well as sister Lynne and her husband.
Several years ago I go a couple tall wooden step ladders.  i painted one purple.  It has sat by the driveway holding my driveway monster for years.  Wind, rain and snow have taken their toll.  So i decided it was time to paint the other one.  not as fast a ob as i thought.  It has been collecting dirt and dust all these years.  I did get it cleaned and it is waiting for a final coat of paint.  took most of the afternoon but my sister bought us a casserole for supper.  i was able to do the planting i had planned for yesterday instead of cooking supper.
Usually either the male or female cardinal are at the feeder, mostly the male.  But not together.  Could they already be sitting on eggs?  there are still 8 or 10 grosbeaks here.  along with 8 or 10 red winged black birds.  People are saying they have seen a few robins.  Today i'm going to put out the crates of apples i've saved for them.  Need to get they out before they thaw anyway.
In the greenhouse we'll be planting eight and ten pots of mixed calibrochias to put on the shelves in the back room Thursday.  And I'll be planting more seeds.
Tonight the rest of the wood in the back room will be moved in by the stove, right on scedule.
Looking forward to a good day.  It will be spring in the greenhouse even though it will be chilly outside.  the surgery makers need another cold day to make the sap run.  this has been a short season.  Sally
