Darel's day went well yesterday. He napped a lot but did walk around the hose little more. Several red winged black birds and some grackles were under the feeders yesterday. the red winged black birds looked bedraggles, like they had had a rough trip.
The andrew's got the back room repaired, draft proof and new plastic on the roof where the wind had removed it. With the snow melted they found more slits in the plastic of the main greenhouse, ice damage. They were able to repair them all with greenhouse repair tape.
Mean while inside the greenhouse I was doing lots of watering by hand because I didn't want to run the hose until about noon today. I'll decide Sunday is i want to take it up again for the cold days early next week. We can see the top of the cold frame I move petunias to. I suspect it will need repair too. I am so fortunate that the Andrew's make time for these repairs. Why they were here yesterday they bought in wood too.
Lots of transplanting was done. the last box of plugs and cutting comes today. After I make sure he doesn't set the box upside down like he did at Kirby's I'll walk out with him to make sure he doesn't lock the door. Though it is easy to get out the back door now and much less snow along the greenhouse.
Speaking of Kirby, he is getting in a large container order, large enough so if I add a few things he'll meet the miminum. I'm very happy to so. There are some plants that the nursery won't ship bare root that my customers like me to carry. The problem is, spring fever is setting in. I'm looking at the book and I would like to get this that and yes those shrubs on that page! i had to put the catalog away last night and look at it this morning when I'm rested and hopefully wiser.
Happy to be putting the hose out and leaving it out for awhile. Lots of time will be spent watering today. Enjoy your day, Sally
