A snow shower with a SW breeze at 26 degrees.  Perhaps some breaks of sun this afternoon with a strong WSW breeze and a high of 42.  Dropping to 20 tonight.  Sunny tomorrow with a WNW breeze, a high of 32 and a low of 17.  Partly cloudy Monday with a NNE breeze, a high of 22 and a low of 11.  Snow to ice Tuesday with a stiff east breeze, a high of 43 and a low of 34.  Morning rain/snow showers Wednesday with a west wind, a high of 38 and a low of 8.  Partly cloudy Thursday with a NW wind, a high of 18 and a low of 3.  Sunny Friday with a brisk NW breeze, a high of 20 and a low of 6.  Sunny next Saturday with a SW breeze, a high of 36 and a low of 29.  Afternoon showers next Sunday with a SW breeze, a high of 36 and a low of 29.  A wintery mix Monday, the 29th, with a NW breeze, a high of 34 and a low of 17.  Pleasant days midweek with snow showers for the first weekend in February.

       Darel's feet are still swollen but otherwise he seems to have recovered from Thursday morning's event, back to needing little help.  And tired of the house, we made a fried chicken run yesterday.

        I put off the fried chicken run until 3:30.  i need to spend hours stuffing envelopes if I'm ever going to get this letter mailed.  I need to be planting seeds and slipping lavender and geraniums.  I did get the order off for potatoes and onion sets.  I already ordered onion plants for the Walla Walla and Alisa Craig onions.  Some plants to set and three hundred to plant.

        I haven't seen the big flock of finches for a few days but I think some of them have stayed with our home flock.  There are lots of skunk tracks.  i hope they are getting rid of rats in the barn.
