I got a large part of the garden behind the house weeded, partly planted and mulched even though we busy yesterday.  People have moved to camp this past week and wanted flowers.  Debbie got the green beans weeded and the late crop planted.  Between customers Rosemarie transplanted broccoli and cauliflower.  Summer is going by so fast!  How can it be that in just a few weeks it will be time to plant fall broccoli and cauliflower?
The part of the garden I worked on yesterday isn't very fertile and has lots of weeds.  So I planted tidal wave and purple wave petunias in it with organic fertilizer, newspapers and lots of hay for mulch.  I cleaned up the hay from around the hay elevator that spilled last week.  By using early cut hay I'm not adding anymore weed seeds.  The newspaper hay mulch will attract earthworms and I'll water with the compost tea to feed the soil microbes.  I had saved more purple waves than I needed so now there are some nice purple waves for sale.
I'm going to a yard sale first thing this morning.  When I get back Rosemarie and Debbie are going.  A neighbor whose husband died last winter is selling her home of many years.  So it is a very large yard sale.
     Enjoy your day, Sally
