Partly cloudy the first three days of May with highs in the sixties and lows in the forties.
Gilbert helped us fill the hoop house with plants that don't like the warm temperatures peppers and tomatoes do.  In the process there is now room in the big greenhouse for the tomatoes and peppers.  And the growing flowers have room to spread.  Andrew redid the door on the hoop house so next week ends cold won't get in.  The flowers don't like the hot greenhouse but they don't want to freeze either.
The clouds were thin enough for there to be some moonshine last night when I went out to put wood on the fires.  A killdeer was calling, the first I've heard this season.  It is late for the killdeer but the season is early.  Gilbert rototilled yesterday and took the soil's temperature.  It was 55 so he planted peas, chard and lettuce.  With lots of reservations about planting so early, about two weeks earlier than he has ever planted before.  Perhaps tomorrow when it drys out form this rain I'll get some in.   i fear we aren't going to et enough rain to make a difference.
      Have a good day, Sally
