3/4/16
One positive thought can change your whole day.

When I put wood on the fires at four I had a choice, set the alarm for five, do the weather and put wood on the fires at six or set the alarm for six.  The good news, it never got below 55 in the greenhouse last night.  It is calm, 0 degrees with wispy clouds and sun.  Today's high will be 31 with a low of 11 tonight.  This weekend the weather will transition from winter to spring.  Partly cloudy tomorrow, a north breeze with a high of 33.  Mostly cloudy Sunday with a west breeze, a high of 38 and a low of 21.  Cloudy Monday with a strong SW breeze, a high of 44 and a low of 29.  Partly cloudy Tuesday with a high of 50, a light WSW breeze and a low of 34.  Cloudy Wednesday with a SW breeze, a high of 58 and a low of 32.    Cloudy Thursday with a strong SW breeze, a high of 50 and a low of 29.  Sunny next Friday with a NW breeze, a high of 44 and a low of 31.  Partly cloudy next Saturday and Sunday with highs about 49 and lows about 31. A SW breeze Saturday, a NW breeze Sunday.  Sunny Monday, the 14th, with a NW breeze, a high of 49 and a low of 22.  Showers the rest of the week with highs around fifty and lows around freezing.
No wind last night made the walks to the greenhouse and back much nicer.  Thursday night I was cold by time I got to the greenhouse.  It is still a slow walk, will be until the ice thaws.  Thanks to my spiked boots Ive stayed on my feet.  All the plants are so green and standing up, looking strong.  I had to fill the bird feeders in the middle of the day.  We have some red poles, Wednesday's snow in the north much have driven them down.
I did very little in the greenhouse yesterday.  Darel needed a prescription.  Since we were half way to the feed store we got some sunflowers and chicken feed.  i did a sheet on pollinators for the DAR meeting Monday.  Although I won't be going to the meetings I am sending something for their "conservation minute"  they have at each meeting.  Mostly the paper was on pansies.  Bowls of pansies can go out early.  Probably as soon as they are available this year.  They can take the cold to 25 degrees.  I've planted them when there were ice crystals in the ground.  Bees are always on the pansies with in an hour of my setting them out on the tables.  Back in the greenhouse today.
     Enjoy your day, Sally
