It's a few degrees warmer and the wind is slightly less this morning,  But the cold has settled in so it doesn't feel warmer,  looking out at everything white is shivery!
I spent a lot of time computer shopping yesterday for two quart mason jars.  In the end I got the best price from Bangor Walmart. Maegin is picking them up today.  Milk will be available in the house entryway egg refrigerator.
The butterfat in our “skim” fresh milk is between the 2% store milk and the 3.25 whole store milk. The heavy cream has been skimmed off to make butter. The cream line on our whole milk tells you the milk is just as it comes from the cow.  The milk is sold in two quart Mason jars.*  The five dollar deposit on the jar is a one time cost if you always bring your jar back. (We wash all the jars and run them through the dishwasher before reusing them)
We make sweet butter, lightly salted.   Our “skim” milk   2 quart $3.00

Our whole milk    2 quart   $5.00     One pound brick of butter $7.00

one pound butter, packaged in 4 quarters, $9.00.

Udder Confusion Dairy is returning to Country Junction.  Like the greenhouse and gardens it is brought to you by another generation. (Though I think I'm going to have Bekah show me how to use the lovely new milking machine.)  Over the winter Bekah and Jay will decide if they want to expand the dairy.  There are only so many hours in a day.

May your day be blessed, Sally
