There is a crispness in the air that says summer is winding down. The flowers are beautiful, they loved the rain and are happy with the cooler air. The mums are starting to bloom, Bekah and Jay are moving them out front. Cucumbers are slowing down, tomatoes are ripening. It is still dry but if we water them we can plant perennials and shrubs, I'm looking forward to redoing the kitchen garden now that we've somewhat tamed the bamboo, Eliminating it will take a couple years. Bekah and the birds are in a race for the elderberries. She's been winning, she has made quite a bit of elderberry juice.
Bradford Historical Society is having a breakfast and silent auction September 13th. Country Junction is donating a Cortland apple tree for the auction. We still have a few Cortlands and some other varieties of apple trees for sale.
It is very quiet this morning, the big yellow bus picked up the kids for the first day of school. There were some tears from the little ones not old enough to go.
Levi had his first haircut, now he is sure he's old enough to do everything.
May your day be blessed, Sally
