The ground is wet but underneath is dry.  Today's wind will dry it even more. The sun sets on spring this evening, summer officially arrives about 10PM here in the east.
There was a huge, old iron safe/ filing cabinet in the garage where we are setting up the summer kitchen.  The drawers didn't open, it took up space.  With lots of effort Jay and Gilbert got it out.   They were concerned about the tires on the dolly but they held.  It went in Gilbert's tractor bucket to his metal pile for scrap.  We were so happy to see it go.  Everything got moved around in the process, exposing piles of empty sunflower hulls left by the chipmunks and a pile of rust where it had set. The chipmunks entertained Darel when he was sitting in his chair, there are none now.
With that "thing" out of the way we can set up the new dehydrator.  Just in time to dehydrate the rhubarb.  Maegin's been making muffins and crisps with it, Bekah and I froze some, and customers have been buying it.  Before next week's heat we have to harvest the rest.
May your day be blessed, Sally
