Even though it is going to rain all day the nursery will be busy as it is the day before Mother's Day. During the month of May the nursery is open Monday through Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Tomorrow, Mother's Day, they will be open all day to accommodate customers who don't want to shop in the rain today. Come June they will be closed Sundays and Mondays.
Jay made a couple of passes with the new mower and it started shooting off pieces. It will be going back to Home Depot! Maegin finished mowing the front lawn with the little electric mower.
I started 3 trays of sunflower seeds yesterday for the sunflower patch we plant in front of the horse barn. We have a couple of loose pet chickens. If we planted seeds they would probably dig them up
When there are flower beds bordering the house the plants need to be at least a foot away from the house to prevent moisture from damaging the house. Because it is our summer dining area that means there isn't room for a flower garden along the garage. So I have flower boxes. Grass and dandelions try to grow between the boxes and the house. This year I'm going to pour vinegar and salt between the boxes and the house. I'll keep you posted on how that works out. One of the boxes has aged out, Darel is building me a new one for that spot.
May your day be blessed, Sally
