A busy but pleasant Mother's Day.  Church, then watching Ruby so Maegin could help Jay and Bekah wait on customers.  There were a lot of them, several times the yard was so full of cars they were parking on the road.  Thankfully we are on a long straight stretch.  Lots of family stopped by and visited for a bit.  Mike fixed hot dogs and hamburgers for those that stayed and the greenhouse crew.  Kevin and Keith called from Alaska.  Keith gave us the good news that he and Tami are going to come to Maine in August when Kevin and Eileen do. For a few days all my sons will be home together!  Traelynne called.  Her house is full of seedlings.  Like here the seedlings are waiting for some sun and warmth.  She is starting a Farmer's Market in her town.  I guess she has taken some of the farm with her.  Though she says she prefers planting flowers to throwing bales of hay..
We have a pair of orioles.  Like the cardinals we don't see them together.  One stays with the nest why the other comes to the feeders.  Catbirds are eating the grape jelly we put out for the orioles.  We have a pair of rose-breasted grosbeaks and a pair of pine grosbeaks.  Sometimes both the male and female are at the feeders.  There are so many purple and gold finches that I put out a third tube feeder.  The sun hits it first in the morning so they all want to feed on it.  When the dandelions go to seed there won't be as many finches.  Last night Gilbert put in a cedar post with hangers on it so I can put out more feeders.
Jay got the bees all settled in.  This week will be good for them.  We are hoping for good weather when the fruit trees bloom.
Today I want to start planting wave petunias.  They'll do fine next week when the weather cools off.  Someone will find time to plant around the flagpole.  I want to plant the bed under the get together room window too.  I'm so thankful to be planting this spring even if I am slow.  I'm slow and all the flower beds are more work because they weren't kept up  last year.
May your day be blessed, Sally
