On Friday we had a couple red winged blackbirds at the feeders.  On Saturday there were about ten.   Yesterday there was a flock of red-winged blackbirds and grackles.  They are at least a week early.  Yesterday I didn't see any pine grosbeaks. Did they head north? The big suet feeder was emptied.  I won't refill it.  Grackles will empty it in an hour.   I have a suet feeder for nuthatches, woodpeckers and chickadees.  The birds have to eat from it upside down.   The grackles can't eat that way.
The fog is lifting a little, showing mostly bare ground.  The pile Doug made for the kids to sled on had fog lifting off it yesterday. Hopefully some of today's rain won't all run off. The water table.is still low, the sump pump has hardly run at all.  Yesterday they bought the begonias, dahlias and fuchsias  that winter in the cellar up. They were divided between the greenhouses.  Bekah said the cellar was still quite dry.  My fuchsias were put in the front room on the germainton table.  They were pruned and sprayed when I took them off the barn.  Aphids love fuchsias, we don't want to chance any wintering over and infecting the greenhouse.
May your day be blessed, Sally
