The hens always seem to start recovering from their winter slump the first week in February.  I have more egg customers than I do eggs so I'm hoping that is true this year.  cold temperatures may slow them down.  They are eating more, that is usually a sign that soon there will be more eggs.  The wild birds have decided that the feeders are an easy meal so I'm feeding more sunflower seeds too.  Someday soon I need to go get sunflower seeds and grain.  I always price other bird food but it is too expensive
Bekah didn't start the seeds she planned to start yesterday.  She is battling a cold.  Today she and Jay have to load a hay trailer for delivery tomorrow.  And she is working at the kennel this week because the owner is traveling  somewhere that is  warm.  There are some very different long range forecasts.  I don't agree with the one saying February will be slightly warmer than average.  If I'm right and February's temperature is average or just below it is better to start the seeds closer to the tenth.  We won't be  starting  the greenhouse earlier than planned.
We get most of our annual plugs and cuttings  from Jolly Farmer in  New Brunswick.  We got an email yesterday that they would split the tariff with us.  The tariff surcharge would have added a little more than 500 dollars to the spring order.  The 30 day stay was good news last night.  We hope they come to an agreement before the thirty days are up.  But even if they don't, about half our order will be here.  And we will have our propane.
May your day be blessed, Sally
