I got a call from Alaska yesterday. Baby Josephine is in the hospital with covid. She has two heart defects, defects that are very common in downs syndrome babies, so she is very fragile. When she is a few months older the doctors hope to correct both defects with surgery.
The forecast was correct, yesterday was cold and very windy. The greenhouse came through unscatheed. The sun was shining so it was 52 degrees inside the greenhouse which probably helped. Wind was getting under an overlap on one of the greenhouse. Jay went out and trimmed it off. The wind was so powerful as it got under the plastic he was afraid it would rip out the fasteners. Doug spotted the problem when he was feeding the cows, The fan to inflate the plastic got here about four Thursday. The plastic will be much safer when it is inflated.
The blower wasn't working on the get together room pellet stove. When Bekah lit it the room filled with smoke. Jay had to quickly clean out the pellets. Jay called his Dad who told him there was a fuse that protected the stove when there were power spikes and outages. Jay checked, sure enough it was blown. I went to the hardware store and got three. A new fuse was put in the stove and the blower came on! The girls were in town Christmas shopping so just Jay and I were here. Jay couldn't go to the hardware store, he had to be here to start the generator if the power went off.
It is cold but the sun is shining and there is no wind. May God bless you on this day, Sally
