The water barrels in the greenhouse are all full, getting warm. They will run the greenhouse very warm today so that everything can get warm before the cold weekend. This afternoon plants will be moved from the house to the greenhouse. Why the cold NW wind blows tomorrow they will be busy transplanting in the warm greenhouse. All the plants will be in the middle of the greenhouse where it is warmest. By next Thursday and Friday there will be a lot of warm wet soil to hold the heat. Bekah is pleased with how well the wood stove is working. Mike sold them good wood which helps. It is nice to have the woodstove helping the propane, it is also nice to let the furnace take over at night, no getting up every two and a half or three hours to put wood on the stove.
I'm looking at the geraniums in my window. A new variety that was supposed to be so much better than the older varieties. We have ordered all older varieties this year. I won't even plant these come spring. Usually my windows are full of geranium blossoms now, there are just a few scraggly blossoms. When these first came out they were so in demand it took us two years to get some! New and improved is not always better!
May God bless you on this day, Sally
