2/5/24 Thank-you Lord for a new week and all the blessing and opportunities that come with it.

Clear, calm, and 16 degrees. Partly cloudy skies this morning, overcast this afternoon. A north wind today with a high of 30.  A north wind tonight with some clouds, a low of 23 .Partly cloudy tomorrow with a strong north breeze, a high of 35, a low of 20.  Partly cloudy Wednesday with a NNE breeze, a high of 37, a low of 12.  Sunshine Thursday with a light north breeze, a high of 38, a low of 21. Cloudy Friday with a south breeze, a high of 42, a low of 32.  Cloudy Saturday with a WSW breeze, a high of 46, a low of 34. Cloudy Sunday with a NNW breeze, a high of 42, a low of 28.  A north breeze next Monday with some rain/snow during the day, 1-3 inches of snow Monday night.  Monday's high 36, the low 23.  1-3 inches of snow next Tuesday morning with a stiff north breeze, a high of 33, a low of 19.  Partly cloudy next Wednesday with a stiff NNW breeze, a high of 29. a low of15.  Partly cloudy Friday the 16th with a brisk NW breeze, a high of 27, a low of 13.  Possible morning snow showers Saturday the 17th, partly cloudy the 18th and 19th.  Strong NW breezes all 3 days with highs about 25, lows about 13.

      Yesterday was a quiet day.  I watched church online.  I made cookies and did some other cooking.  When the boys were growing up, money was short.  I made a lot of cookies and raisins were expensive.   I made green tomato mincemeat and substituted it for some of the raisins.  The mincemeat had raisins in it but green tomatoes stretched the raisins.  No one knew they were eating green tomatoes.  I had made mincemeat  last year so I used it in yesterday's cookies.  I don't bother to roll out the cookies, I just put spoonfuls on the cookie sheet.  I flatten the spoonfuls with a wet washcloth over the bottom of a mug.

     A lot more seeds will be planted this week but nothing is planned for today.  I'm going to move some plants around as the peppermint is up and needs transplanted.  We have more peppermint than we can use.Bekah thought there were 100 seeds in the packet, there were a thousand.  Everyone in the family wants to grow peppermint because I haven't had any mice since I've been strewing peppermint leaves around.  But we don't need or have room for a thousand.
