Was yesterday winter's last cold winds with night time single temperatures?  There are lots of March winds mixed in with unseasonably warm temperatures.  This is the same weather that greeted us in 1977, our first spring in Maine when we moved here from Alaska.  Cows went out on pasture the first week in May.  Whatever, we will take each day as it comes.  We have two hours plus more daylight now.  I enjoy the early morning sunshine but daylight savings time starts March 10th.
The large flock of finches and pine siskins did not come back,  We already have a good sized flock of local finches.  The red polls that were here last week have moved on also. Why the large flock was here the other birds, even the blue jays, seemed overwhelmed by the crowd.
I think it will be church online for me today.  I'm thankful to be on the upswing healthwise but I'm tired.  Also it will be eight or so before most of the hens have finished laying their eggs.  I have to collect eggs before I go to church, some might start to freeze before I get home. A great grandson is celebrating his first birthday today.  Nicole suggested I ride with her but I've decided to take myself.   That way I can leave early if I want.
May God bless you on this day, Sally
