7/17/19
Your life is your garden.  Your thoughts are the seeds.   For an awesome life don't water any weed seeds.

Some one minute showers going through, so far we've .01 inch of rain.  It is 67 degrees with a gentle SW breeze.  Clouds today with a WSW breeze, scattered thunderstorms with the best chance for one about noon and again about four or five.  Expect a high of 81 and a low of 58.  Dry, less humid tomorrow with an ENE breeze, a high of 81 and a low of 65.  Sunny and 84 degrees Friday with a SSW breeze, and a low of 67.  Partly cloudy Saturday, humid but a stiff WSW breeze, a high of 96 and a low of 68.  Not quite as hot Sunday, 90 degrees for a high, with a possible afternoon shower, a WNW breeze, and a low of 64.  Perhaps a shower Monday with a west breeze, a high of 83 and a low of 60.  A little better chance for a showers Tuesday with a WNW breeze, a high of 78 and a low of 60.  Pleasant the rest of the month with highs in the low eighties.
Darel had a pleasant da, spending some time in his greenhouse chair.  No bothersome insects these hot days.  In the evening we went to the Creamery for a change of scenery.
No daytime bugs but the mosquitos come out at dusk.  Now that the dragon flies have hatched it is possible to water my hanging plants and window boxes in the evening.  Before the dragonflies hatched they were too thick to do anything.  Even my little pond in the kitchen garden has a cat tail, some watering lilies and rocks for the dragonflies.  Many pollinator friendly plants provide lots fo food for them.
Watering is always a big part of the day in a garden center.  it will be a challenge the next few weeks.  So yesterday any annuals that wasn't top notch was dumped.  Water and time are too precious to waste on medicare flowers.  We even dumped some planters.  Tammara potted up some more perennials we started.  I gave the pansies a clip job.  They don't do well in the hot weather, now they'll have lots of tne greenery and blossoms when it cools down a bit.  Today i'll do the same for the nemesia.  We have lots of mums and fall blooming perennials for late summer/fall gardens but we like to have other pretty cool weather flowers for something different.
I picked a bushel of summer squash and a bushel of zucchini last night.  Cucumbers are about fur inches long.  Today is their day to get the soaker hose.
The TV came on, Darel is ready for breakfast.  Enjoy your day, Sally
