Darel had a good day yesterday, quiet, glad for the warmth of the pellet stove. Sons and grandson stuck their head in to say hi, they were all busy clearing snow. More like sugar sand.
Only fed the birds twice yesterday. Watched the blu jays and the red squirrel fight over the most protected feeder. Neither seemed to win, just wasted a lot of energy fighting. Took hot water out to the hens four times. Fixed them a hot meal in the afternoon. I'll be doing the same today. No matter what I do the eggs will be smaller but hopefully production won't drop. Even though I have a light on them usually production picks up with longer days the end of January.
I'll have lots of old fashioned pink bleeding hearts but no white ones, the nursery is sold out. I'm waiting to see how bad the fighting in Washington affects the economy before I finalize my bareroot perennial order. Shrubs and fruit trees were ordered last fall. I have lots of perennials I've started.
Hoping to send out my winter letter tomorrow. Have a good day, Sally
