Darel had a good day yesterday with lots of company.  Late in the afternoon when the power came back on we went to Staples and ordered the calendars.
Our power went off about 7 am and came back on late afternoon due to a problem at the sub station in Corinth.  Mike started the generator and I ran cords to the sump pump, water pump and the pump on the wood cook range.  Mid morning a breeze started in so Gilbert and i ran the cord to the inflation fan in the greenhouse.  it was forty degrees so we didn't need to run cords to to the light bulbs that keep the water pipes from freezing in the barns.  Fortunately we had Andrew's generator here because ours kept quitting.
I put away the outside cords before we went to town.  I put away outside decorations yesterday morning so lots of cords to put away,  I usually leave Christmas up for the 12 days of Christmas but it was sunny and warm, nothing was froze so it seemed a good idea to put them away.  I did the inside cords when i got home from Bangor.  Why i was in the cellar I filled the water softener so it will be good until i put the perennials i've started down there to vernalize.  they go down when I need the lights for germinating seeds.  I took advantage of the pleasant weather to clean the bird feeders.
I need to go make a path of ashes to  walk on when i take hot water out to the hens.  So far each time the driveway has become icy I've had enough ashes saved for a path.  Sunday School and church today.   Enjoy your day, Sally
